ABOUT THE COURSE

This CEU presentation gives a broad overview to the proper use of moldings and how to organize interior spaces with molding size and placement. There is a great deal of misinformation regarding moldings and how they should be used in a home. This program explains the Classical use of moldings as well as a quick overview of historic styles and their unique characteristics. The audience should walk away with a better plan for organizing and using moldings in a home, as well as a better way to transform the scale and proportion of a room based on the placement and size of moldings.

 

Key points include:

- The five orders of architecture

- The human scale and how to make a room "feel" right

- Historical styles and traditions

- Quick rules for choosing moldings and making decisions

 

CEU CREDITS

This course is presented by Hull Historical in cooperation with Restore Media and its Traditional Building Exhibition and Conference, a registered provider with the AIA Continuing Education System. This course has been approved for 1 AIA HSW LU and for .1 CEU for interior designers. Architects must provide their AIA number and information will be submitted to the AIA CES in their behalf.This is an IDCEC approved program; CEUs are accepted by ASID, IDC, and IIDA. Interior Designers must provide their full contact information upon signing in to the course and should report this learning activity to their core association as Course No. 40251 in subject area 2.4. Its designation is General Knowledge. Designers will receive a certifcate of completion by US mail.
