Fairfield Presents the Light Pocket

For years customers have been requesting brighter and more economical lighting to illuminate their displays. As light boxes have developed mainly helped by the advancements in LED lighting it has now been possible to merge the two ideas together resulting in ‘Light Pocket’.

Light Pocket is an excellent alternative for illuminating graphics. Combined with the Fairfield’s easy access acrylic concept, the LED’s brings a new life to the acrylic panels with a light box inserted in the middle and a bright white edge lit boarder completes its stylish look.

The main benefit of LED lighting especially to the Light Pocket display is that it is extremely bright. A number of letter size Light Pockets for example can be suspended on cables and the light emitted will grab the attention of each individual pocket. Seeing all the Light Pockets illuminated from a distance will set intrigue to passersby as it is a completely new display concept.

The overall lamp life is 100,000 hours (based on 12v LED lights) which breaks down to 11 years of continuous use or double the years for half the illuminating use. This is an extremely long lamp life compared to incandescent lighting options.

How the design works is that the LED’s are rebated into the panel allowing for an even light spread from the middle of the light box which then diffuses across the whole panel. The light box is completely maintenance-free; therefore your customer will not be calling you for tube or lamp replacements. It is supplied with its own miniature power supply which, connects straight to the mains and hidden from view, retaining the displays up market finish.

Another advantage of working with LED lighting is that it uses very low levels of electricity, therefore being very economical to run. From an operational perspective, LED’s convert 80% of the electrical energy into lighting energy and the remaining 20% is lost as heat energy. What is ideal about this display is that spare illuminating light is transmitted through the clear panel giving an attractive edge lit frosted glow to the overall pocket. It is perhaps this edge lit glow that sets the scene for the overall display where the intrigue into what is presented begins.

Your customer can change the graphics or posters as often and easily as required. The best results are achieved from back lit inkjet prints, but standard paper can be used up to 90 gsm. The customer can literally slip the graphic in or out at the top of the panel.

The Light Pocket is incredibly slim with a depth of only 9/16” (14mm) which means that it strikes that important balance in the design between creating an extremely bright lightbox and a sophisticated display yet a delicate appearance can be still be maintained.

Standard sizes are 8.5” x 11”, 16” x20” as well as A4-A2 sizes in single and double sided options, larger and special sizes can be made to order. The Light Pockets can be suspended from Fairfield’s cables and rods.
