TODL Green Director, Kim Gordon achieves LEED AP status February, 2009 Kim Gordon, TODL Green Director, joined the ranks of other green professionals this month, officially achieving the USGBC LEED AP status. Her pursuit to learn more about protecting the environment is no new thing. Kim got interested in “all things green” at a very young age, so she decided to focus on her passion and earned a B.S. degree in Environmental Science. From there, she went on to work in various areas of the Environmental field. With 15 years of experience in Non-Profit, Government and the Private Sector, Kim loves the opportunity to work with the manufacturers and design firms affiliated with TODL. Kim remarks, “I feel like I am in a professional environment to really make a difference. To be able to work with this industry and learn about innovative green design of products and spaces is a dream come true. The built environment is where it is happening and where we can truly make a difference. And, the process to become a LEED AP was a wonderful opportunity to understand the LEED process and learn even more about some of the details of good, green design.” LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP’s) are building industry professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building and the LEED® Green Building Rating System™. The LEED AP credential indicates that the professional has the knowledge and skills to facilitate the LEED certification process. LEED Professional Accreditation is a voluntary designation achieved by over 60,000 individuals who have passed the LEED Professional Accreditation exam. The Green Building Certification Institute recommends that LEED AP candidates have building industry knowledge, as well as experience working with green building professionals from multiple disciplines.
